5 additional people have been detained in Chhattisgarh for assaulting police

In connection with the alleged assault on police officers in Gorra village on January 1 amid racial tensions that resulted in the vandalization of a church the following day, five more people were detained in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on Sunday.

26 people have reportedly been detained thus far in relation to the incidents in Gorra village and Narayanpur city, according to IGP Sundarraj P of the Bastar range. On January 1, a group of Christian tribals was said to have attacked members of the dominant tribes in Gorra village, which led to the alleged assault on the police.
