A day before Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra visits Jammu and Kashmir, the UT Congress spokesman resigns.

Before Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Jammu and Kashmir, Congress spokesperson Deepika Pushkar Nath quit in protest over the party’s acceptance of Dogra Swabhiman Sangh founder Choudhary Lal Singh’s suggestion to join the foot march at Lakhanpur.

She stated that she was leaving the party on “ideological grounds” and that former state minister Lal Singh was responsible for “sabotaging the legal case” in the 2018 gang rape and murder of an eight-year-old Bakerwali tribal girl in the Rasana forest in Kathua district by “brazenly defending” the rapists and murderers.

“In light of Ch Lal Singh’s suggestion to join @bharatjodo and @INCJammuKashmir’s approval, I have no choice but to resign from @INCIndia, “he said (.) Deepika Pushkar Nath stated on Twitter that Lal Singh was responsible for ruining the Kathua rape case in 2018 by brazenly defending the rapists. “Lal Singh partitioned all of Jammu and Kashmir to protect rapists, and @bharatjodo is fundamentally opposed.” “I cannot share the party programme with such a person on ideological grounds,” she wrote.

Deepika represented the parents of the victim before the J&K High Court and requested a court-monitored investigation into the incident. She had also petitioned the Supreme Court to shift the trial from Jammu and Kashmir to Pathankot, in neighboring Punjab.
