A debut bronze medal for the Indian team at the World Tent Pegging Championships

At the Women’s International Tent Pegging Championship in Jordan, the Indian Equestrian team won a historic bronze medal.

Ritika Dahia, Priyanka Bhardwaj, and Khushi Singh comprised the Indian team. Equestrian Federation of India released a statement saying that 14 countries participated and that the Indian team finished third with 136 points, behind gold medal winners South Africa (170.5) and Oman (146).

The first day of the competition featured individual and pair lance events for captain Dahiya and Bhardwaj. After Day 1, India placed seventh with 24 points in individual and team sword events. On Day 2, India placed second with 24 points in individual and team sword events. Khushi Singh earned 18 points to win the individual event.
