The actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor joined director Ayan Mukerji in discussing the characters Amrita and Dev, who were briefly introduced in the first installment of the planned trilogy Brahmastra. According to them, beyond the ‘core team’ of the film – Ayan, Ranbir, and Alia – no one knows who will play the two characters in the sequels.
A teaser for the follow-up, titled Brahmastra Part Two: Dev, appears at the end of the first film. It is revealed in the film that Ranbir Kapoor’s character Shiva is the son of Dev and Amrita. As a result of Dev’s involvement with villainy, the two had a falling out. It was eventually Amrita who succumbed to a mysterious fire, whereas Shiva survived. A stand-in appears as Dev and Deepika Padukone appears as Amrita – who possesses the power to control water. The role of Ranveer Singh has been rumored to be cast.
During an interview with India Today, Alia was asked to fan-cast the roles, and she indicated that she would cast DP for Amrita. It’s going to be very exciting for any actor to play the role of Amrita, as she is gorgeous, stunning, and has that amazing stature.” She passed the question on to Ranbir who responded, ” Dev and Amrita are by far the most exciting characters in this trilogy, and it’s going to be very exciting for any actor to play this role.” It is evident that it is going in the right direction, and it will only add to the grandeur of the trilogy.”
There are also cameo appearances from Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika, and Dimple Kapadia in Brahmastra. A married couple, Deepika and Ranveer have appeared in several films together over the years, including three epic romances directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
