After Mahatma, it is Modi who understands Indians: Rajnath at launch of a book on PM

According to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, if anyone understands the hearts of the Indian people after Mahatma Gandhi, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said, “It is Modiji who has accepted the BJP by people of all sects, breaking the boundaries of caste and community. He has created a model that has no match. People are looking for a counter but don’t have one yet… you don’t have any other leader in independent India who has done all the responsibilities given to them… no doubt that after 2014 BJP Whatever glory has been achieved, it is because of Modiji,” he said on Sunday.

The Defense Minister was speaking at the launch of the book The Architect of the New BJP: How Narendra Modi Transformed the Party by Ajay Singh, a senior journalist and currently the President’s Press Secretary.

Rajnath said: “After Mahatma Gandhi if there is any leader who understands the hearts of the people in India, it is Modi Ji. He understands people’s feelings and their problems.”

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, who was present at the event, said Modi is one of the most popular leaders in the world, and “whether you agree with him or not, one has to know him.”

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was of the view that Modi had “restored personal and political morality” in the country.
