An Air India Express plane was found with a snake in the cargo hold after landing in Dubai; the DGCA is investigating the incident

A snake was discovered in the cargo hold of an Air India Express plane after it landed at the Dubai airport on Saturday, and the aviation regulator DGCA is investigating the incident, according to a senior aviation official.

Passengers were safely deplaned from the B737-800 aircraft which originated from Calicut, Kerala.

Senior officials at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have confirmed that a snake was found in the cargo hold of the plane on arrival at the Dubai airport and that the airport fire services have also been notified.

A human error caused the ground handling lapse. A thorough investigation will be conducted, and appropriate enforcement action will be taken, the official told PTI.

We were unable to reach a spokesperson for Air India Express for comment. The number of passengers could not be immediately determined.
