Anthony Russo thinks casting Priyanka Chopra was an intelligent move because of Citadel’s ‘innovative and interesting’ experiment

In addition to playing Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Russo Brothers’ adventure series Citadel features a team of global stars. During Inside TV’s Best Big Bet panel discussion in New York, the actress discussed the Amazon Prime Video series. In the show, she learns six languages and does her stunts as a top agent.

The experience of participating in Citadel was described by Priyanka as ‘innovative’ and as an ‘interesting experiment’. The local language series stands alone; you do not need to watch the American series to understand it. However, if you view all the other shows, you will find that they are all interconnected, which has never been done before on television. Streamers such as Amazon cater to audiences worldwide, so this is an exciting experiment.”

When asked what she loves most about Citadel, she replied, “I find it so exciting to be able to offer a show that crosses audiences and languages.” Consequently, it was innovative, and that is what I appreciated about it.” She is also looking forward to the Indian, Italian, Spanish, and Mexican spinoffs of Citadel.

Priyanka’s casting for Citadel was an ‘intelligent’ decision, according to director Anthony Russo. He said when Jennifer Salke (Amazon Studios head) mentioned Priyanka, the light bulb switched on. It was so smart and intelligent because Priyanka represents what the show is all about. As someone who’s done amazing work in India and internationally, she’s got this sort of dual identity.

Citadel isn’t just about Priyanka. Richard Madden is also a big part. Citadel will be directed by Raj & DK, who created The Family Man. According to rumors, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will star.

Sati was Priyanka’s last role in The Matrix Resurrections in 2021. Now she’s looking forward to Citadel and It’s All Coming Back to Me, an American rom-com.
