Atiq Ahmed, his sibling, was fatally wounded when they were shot.
On Saturday night in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, convicted gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his sibling Ashraf Ahmed were shot to death as they were being transported for a medical examination.
Atiq Ahmed, accompanied by his sibling, was seen speaking with reporters on television when at least two men armed with pistols opened fire. This occurs just days after his son, 19-year-old Asad Ahmed, was slain by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force in an encounter. Asad Ahmed was placed to rest on Saturday morning.
Atiq and Ashraf’s bullet-riddled bodies were removed from the scene as tension seized the area following the shocking murder. Both of them had been brought here for a court hearing regarding the 2005 murder of Umesh Pal.
