Box office: Drishyam 2 is the 24th Ajay Devgn film to earn 1 crore feet; Rs 160 crore total

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 becomes 24th movie to reach 1 crore footfalls; total is 160 crore

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 is rocking the box office in India, collecting Rs 160 crore in two weeks. This edge-of-the-seat thriller isn’t stopping anytime soon and will soon make its way into the Rs 200 crore club. Taking its place among the rare blockbusters from Hindi Cinema post-pandemic, the movie is turning into a blockbuster.

Our tracking shows Drishyam 2 had 1 crore footfalls on Friday, December 2, 2022, which means around 1 crore people have already seen the Abhishek Pathak film. At the end of its run, the film should get 1.30 to 1.50 crore footfalls and make Ajay Devgn’s list of biggest hits. This is despite competition from Bhediya last week, and the film is getting more screens this week.

Drishyam 2 will still be the top choice for the audience even in its third week, and it should do well at the box office on Saturday and Sunday. There’s a good chance the movie’s going to hit 3.50 crores by Saturday. We’re aiming for around Rs 17-18 crore for the third weekend, which puts us in position to hit a double digit. The 15-day total for Drishyam 2 will be around Rs 163.50 crore.

Before the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, Ajay Devgn’s movie will have a free run at the box office. Drishyam is Ajay Devgn’s second blockbuster in two years (after Tanhaji) and third in five years (after Tanhaji and Golmaal Again). Interestingly, he’s also been consistently successful at the box office in the last 5 years with movies like Total Dhamaal, Golmaal Again, De De Pyaar De, Raid, Tanhaji, and Drishyam 2. With Maidaan, Bholaa, Neeraj Pandey’s next, and Singham 3, the actor has a lot coming up. Keep an eye on Deccan Era for more.
