Chhattisgarh government has approved a draught Maoist policy, which will be introduced in the Parliament

The Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has approved a draught of a new anti-Maoist policy, which will be introduced in the Assembly.

Those from other states will be eligible for compensation if they are victims of Maoist operations. Those who risk their lives to assist police in anti-Maoist efforts will be recruited to the police department at the lowest level.

More measures have been included in the policy for the rehabilitation of surrendered Maoists and their families. Each Naxalite will be given Rs 25,000 in exchange for their surrender.

The policy will be in effect for five years from its implementation.
