CM of Uttarakhand meets with Japanese officials

As part of efforts to strengthen economic ties with Japan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Tuesday with officials from the Japanese Embassy, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
According to a statement released by the Uttarakhand information department, India and Japan will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2022.
The Chairman of FICCI’s Forum of Parliamentarians, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, welcomed delegates from Japan and said Uttarakhand has abundant investment opportunities. In an explanation of the potential for trade and investment between Uttarakhand and Japan, Rohit Meena, Director General and Commissioner of Industries, presented a report. Members of parliament and members of the legislature from Uttarakhand also attended.
A list of organic agricultural products from the state is provided by the agriculture secretary BVRC Purushottam. A collaborative dialogue was organised between government, industry, academia, and policy experts to facilitate discussions on galvanising socio-economic, cultural, and people-to-people connections between Uttarakhand and Japan.
According to a statement, around 40 Japanese companies are operating in Uttarakhand, including Denso and Panasonic.
