Congress leader Jairam Ramesh will sue BJP lawmaker Pragya Thakur for “hate speech” before the Supreme Court.
On Tuesday, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh stated that BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur’s remarks at a ceremony in Shivamogga, Karnataka, are a clear example of hate speech and that he will file a complaint against her with the Supreme Court.
Ramesh stated that he would file a complaint against Thakur at the supreme court because the Karnataka police would not take action against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member. The BJP presently rules Karnataka, and Assembly elections are scheduled for early next year.
“The words made by BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur in Karnataka are a clear example of hate speech, and I would petition the Supreme Court against her for making such statements,” the former Union minister told PTI.
Since the BJP is in control of the southern state, he asserted that the local police would not take action against Thakur.
Thakur stated that Hindus have the right to retaliate against those who assault them and their dignity while discussing the murder of Hindu activists.
As everyone has the right to self-defense, she also urged Hindus to at least maintain the sharpness of their household knives.
Sunday at the annual convention of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s southern area in Shivamogga, the BJP MP from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh urged the gathering to respond appropriately to anyone who “infiltrates our house.”
“Keep your weapons at home. If nothing else, maintain the blades’ sharpness to cut vegetables…. Uncertain about what situation may arise when… Everyone has the right to defend themselves. “If someone breaks into our home and attacks us, we have the right to respond in kind,” she said.
“Love jihad. They have a history of jihadism. Despite everything, they adore jihad. Even in their love, they practise jihad. “We (Hindus) also adore, love the deity, just as a sanyasi loves his god,” stated Thakur.
She also stated at the event, “A sanyasi believes that in this world established by God, all oppressors and sinners must perish. Otherwise, the actual definition of love will perish here. Similarly, respond to individuals participating in love jihad. Protect your daughters and teach them proper values.”
