Congress President Sonia Gandhi again tested positive for Covid-19, says Jairam Ramesh
Congress President Sonia Gandhi tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday, said Jairam Ramesh, general secretary in charge of the party’s communications. This comes barely two months after he tested positive for the novel coronavirus in early June.
“Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi has tested positive for COVID-19 today. She will remain in isolation according to the government. Protocol,” Ramesh said through a tweet.
On Wednesday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also announced that she had tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time in three months.
According to the Union Health Ministry’s latest data on Saturday, India reported nearly 16,000 new Covid cases and 68 fatalities, including 24 reported by Kerala.
