On Friday, four days after a 22-year-old Dalit man was attacked for attempting to enter a temple, five individuals were arrested in the More police station region of Uttarkashi.
Though it was said that Ayush Kumar, a Dalit man, was attacked by a group of five individuals and singed with burning sticks when he entered the temple, senior police officers have stated that there is no proof or statement to support this. On the victim’s body, however, minor injuries, including two burn marks, have been discovered.
Prashant Kumar, Circle Officer (Operations), stated, “Initially, the hospital discovered minor injuries all over his body. We have not yet taken the victim’s statement.
