Dimple Yadav takes oath in parliament as a candidate for the SP

The newly elected Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Dimple Yadav took oath as a member of Parliament on Monday.

A by-election was held for the Mainpuri parliamentary constituency following the death of her father-in-law, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the patriarch of the SP. Dimple Yadav won the by-election.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Dimple Yadav, former member of the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha, contested from Kannauj constituency in Uttar Pradesh, but lost to Subrat Pathak of the BJP.

During the 16th Lok Sabha, she served as a member of the Standing Committee on Water Resources and the Ministry of Women and Child Development Consultative Committee.
