Jharkhand Police has arrested four persons for allegedly defiling a mosque at Telodih in Giridih.
The incident and arrest took place on October 4. However, the matter came to light later when BJP Legislature Party leader Babulal Marandi took to social media to ask the police to investigate the incident “without any bias” and do “appeasement politics” not play a role.
Giridih Deputy Commissioner Naman Priyesh Lakra told The Indian Express, “Four people were arrested… A petition is being filed by the family of one of the accused that he is mentally unstable, but it does not seem genuine. All four accused are employed in multinational companies. The police booked IPC sections 109 (abetment to offence), 153 (abetment with intent to cause riot), 153 A(2) [promoting enmity between two groups (crime committed in place of worship)], 295 ( An FIR has been registered under desecration of a home. of prayer), 295A (insulting religious sentiments), 296 (disturbing religious gathering), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (general intent).
