Gujarat: The state will fulfill all pending allowances under the 7th pay commission

Prior to elections in the Gujarat election, Gujarat’s Gujarat government will carry out all in-process allowances of the 7th Pay Commission which is likely to impact nine lakh employees of the state government and their families. The allowances will be implemented according to the guidelines of the central government.

Employees who are women will be able to take a six-month pregnancy leave, with no consideration of the duration of their employment. The financial aid to the demise of a government employee in the line of duty was also increased from eight lakh to 14 lakh, as announced by the government on Friday.

The announcements came after the government employees ‘ unions have protested at the hands of government officials.

The employees who were enrolled in the state government services on or before April 1st in 2005 will be enrolled into GPF (General Provident Fund) and the pension scheme of the past. The state government also made a decision to raise CPF (Contributory Provident Fund) up to 14 percent instead of the current 10 percent.

Employees will be granted an allowance for medical expenses that is worth Rs 1,000 instead Rs 300. The government also announced relaxations for departmental and pre-service exams where English questions have been canceled. The state government has established a committee of cabinet ministers to address the problems concerning employees of the government.
