Hardik meets with HM Amit Shah prior to the Sri Lanka series.

Hardik Pandya met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence three days prior to beginning his new role as India’s full-time T20 captain.
The 27-year-old flashy all-rounder for Baroda, who was appointed captain for the forthcoming three-match T20I home series against Sri Lanka commencing on January 3, was accompanied by his cricketer brother, Krunal.

“We appreciate your invitation to spend time with you, Honorable Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji. It was an honour to meet you,” Hardik tweeted alongside photographs of him and his brother conversing with Shah.
The Pandya-led side is comprised of young players, since Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are not included in the T20I format, while Rohit Sharma may not be selected again with the 2024 World Cup in mind. Following the T20Is, Pandya will serve as Rohit’s deputy in the three-match ODI series. Currently, Rohit is healing from a finger injury.
