After Saudi Arabia and Iran’s agreement on Thursday, India stated that it has always advocated for discussion and diplomacy to address problems and that it had “abiding interests” in the area.
In response to concerns about the China-mediated deal between the two rivals in West Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday, “We have seen the reports in this respect. India maintains friendly connections with several West Asian countries. We have vested interests in that region. India has always supported for discussion and diplomacy to settle disputes.”
After seven years, the two countries declared the full restoration of diplomatic relations.
