A teenager was thrashed by some miscreants for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in the Charmahal area of Hyderabad’s old city.
A 17-year-old boy was thrashed by some miscreants on Thursday for not chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ during a Bonalu procession in the Charmahal area of Hyderabad’s old city. Kishor belongs to the minority community.
According to the police, “A minor boy resident of Hussaini Alam was on his way back on Thursday night. Meanwhile, Bonalu’s procession was going out from Shad Cafe Hussaini Alam of Charminar police station area. Suddenly, a group of miscreants allegedly stopped the victim and applied tilak on her forehead and forced her to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram. When the boy refused to do so, he was also beaten up.
The victim has complained to the Charminar police, on which a case has been registered. The police have identified the accused and taken them into custody.
The main accused has been identified as Rupesh Sharma.
