“I’m really pleased with my batting, and my bowlers will win me more matches in the future,” said Nitish Rana of his defeat to SRH.

Despite a valiant effort, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were unable to pull off a robbery against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens on Friday. However, captain Nitish Rana is pleased with his batting unit and is confident that his team will win him more matches in the future.

During the post-game press conference, Rana (75 off 41 deliveries) stated that 230 is not an easy target for any wicket but that the team had hope.

“As a batting unit, I’m very pleased with my batting, but I can’t be too critical because these bowlers will win me a game at some point in the future. “I’m very pleased with the effort we put forth, but I would have preferred two points as well,” he said.

When questioned about what he was thinking while Rinku Singh was batting, Rana responded, “We had faith.” Over the course of the last four matches, as a batting unit, one or another individual has played an exceptional inning. However, this is not uncommon. “To chase down 230, you must bat extraordinarily well, which we did not do today.”

Rana also provided an update on Andre Russel, stating, “It’s not an injury; it’s just a spasm. This is due to dehydration. Russell is one of the greatest all-rounders in T20 cricket in terms of his batting. If he cannot perform with the bat, I am confident that he will perform with the ball, as he did today.”

He revealed his bowling strategy by saying, “I will ask the bowler who is bowling well on any given day to bowl.”

Rana also lauded IPL 2023’s first century-maker, Harry Brook, stating that he produced an exceptional inning.

“Harry Brook performed an exceptional stroke. If someone bats like this and sets a target of 230, I believe the next few days will also be difficult. It is extremely challenging to achieve 230 runs in just 20 overs.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Hyderabad by 23 runs.
