In his final Mann Ki Baat of 2022, Prime Minister Modi urges citizens to remain careful and wear masks due to the resurgence of Covid instances in numerous countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned the population of India to remain vigilant on Sunday, advising them to wear masks and wash their hands frequently. He also noted that many countries were experiencing an increase in Covid cases.

This Sunday marked the 96th edition of the Prime Minister’s monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, which he broadcast for the last time in 2022.

The Prime Minister paid respect to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of his 98th birthday by stating, “He was a great leader who delivered extraordinary leadership to the country. He holds a particular place in every Indian’s heart.”

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance to maintain the river Ganga clean, stating, “Maa Ganga is a vital part of our culture and tradition. It is our obligation as a group to maintain the river clean. While the Namami Gange Mission aided in enhancing our biodiversity, the Swachh Bharat Mission has been ingrained in the thoughts of all Indians. “All Indians are now collectively carrying on the legacy of cleanliness.”

Modi stated that India has successfully eradicated diseases such as smallpox, polio, and guinea worm, adding, “In the past several years, we have overcome a number of significant obstacles in the health sector. The full credit goes to our medical professionals, scientists, and the nation’s willpower. I’d like to draw your attention to another difficulty:- Kala Azar (visceral leishmaniasis).”

“This condition can affect individuals of any age. Until a few years ago, fifty districts in four states were infected with Kala Azar. However, thanks to the efforts of everyone, the disease has been restricted to only four districts in Bihar and Jharkhand. The Prime Minister continued, “I am optimistic that we will be able to eradicate Kala Azar from these districts as well.”

During his address to the country, Modi also wished all Indians a Merry Christmas.

Referring to India’s accomplishments in several disciplines, the Prime Minister stated, “In 2022, we accomplished numerous feats that contributed to establishing India’s distinctive position in the world. India also become the world’s fifth-largest economy in 2022. During the same year, India set an incredible milestone by administering 220 billion immunisations.”

“The nation’s citizens were also responsible for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. This Amrit Mahotsav will continue with the same spirit next year, thereby strengthening Amrit Kaal’s foundation. The year 2022 will also be recognised for the spread of the “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” (One India, One Nation) spirit. “The country’s citizens also organised a number of fantastic activities to celebrate unity and camaraderie,” added the prime minister.

In the broadcast of Mann Ki Baat that aired on November 27, Prime Minister Modi discussed India’s path toward obtaining the G20 chairmanship.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for India, which must be utilised by focusing on the global good,” he said.

On December 1, India assumed the G20 presidency from Indonesia.

In the 95th Mann Ki Baat broadcast, Modi praised a “unique present” from Hariprasad, a weaver from Telangana who brought the Prime Minister a G20 logo he hand-woven.

Modi also lauded India’s private sector for designing and preparing the nation’s first privately developed and launched rocket. “This rocket’s designation is ‘Vikram-S.’ “As soon as this maiden rocket of the indigenous Space Startup took off from Sriharikota, every Indian’s heart leapt with pride,” the Prime Minister said.

According to the news agency ANI, on December 13 Prime Minister Modi requested the public to submit suggestions for the December 25 episode of Mann Ki Baat. The Prime Minister invited individuals to send messages via the NaMo App, MyGov App, or 1800-11-7800.
