According to the JEE Main 2023 information brochure, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has reinstated the class 12 performance criterion of 75 percent for qualifying. The test will be held between January 24-31 and April 6-12.
After the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the previous three editions of the entrance waived the requirement. IITs’ JEE Advanced 2023 entrance exam, which is the entrance to undergraduate programs, is likely to reinstate the JEE criterion.
Admission to BE, BTech, BArch, and BPlanning is outlined in a brochure released Thursday. Candidates applying to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs through the Central Seat Allocation Board will need to score at least 75 percent in their Class 12 exam.
In the case of SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks are 65 percent.
For JEE Main, candidates from all categories must also pass each subject in class 12 or any equivalent qualification exam.
Registration fees for both categories of candidates have also gone up. For male general category candidates, the fee has gone up to Rs 1,000. There’s now a fee of Rs 800 for female candidates, up from Rs 325.
We’re charging Rs 500 for SC/ST/PWD and third gender candidates. Before, it was Rs 325. A total of 399 centers will administer the test in India and 25 abroad. There were 501 JEE Main 2022 centers in India and 13 overseas.
Furthermore, NTA announced the dates for other major undergraduate entrance exams, like NEET and CUET-UG. The NEET will be on May 7, and the CUET-UG will be on May 21. Several sessions will be held until May 31. Details will be shared later.
