Tuesday, India and Denmark decided to enhance their green strategic collaboration, focusing on green hydrogen, renewable energy, and wastewater management.
The environment minister of the United States, Bhupender Yadav, stated that the partnership had established extremely ambitious national targets on climate and energy, which will contribute to the ambitious implementation of the Paris Agreement for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and financing.
The agreement includes cooperation on offshore wind and renewable energy and the India-Denmark Energy Partnership for capacity building and technology transfer in offshore wind, energy modelling, and renewable energy integration.
According to Yadav, the two nations can demonstrate to the world that achieving ambitious climate and sustainable energy targets is feasible. Yadav, who participated in the opening plenary of the “India–Denmark: Partners for Green and Sustainable Development” Conference in New Delhi, stated, “It is also vital to commit to the foundational principles of the Rio Convention [for a sustainable earth for future generations] at the same time.”
Crown prince Frederik and crown princess Mary of Denmark were among those in attendance.
Yadav said excessive production and consumption need urgent attention. At the recently finished COP27 [United Nations Climate Change Conference] in Sharm El-Sheikh, sustainable lifestyles and sustainable consumption and production patterns (SCP) were emphasised in global efforts to combat climate change.
He stated that India’s Mission LiFE plan to combat climate change contributes directly or indirectly to the vast majority of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
