The Second UN World Geospatial International Congress was addressed by PM Narendra Modi by video message on Tuesday. According to the theme of this year’s conference – Geo-Enabling the Global Village: No one should be left behind – India has taken steps to empower the “last person at the last mile” over the past few years.
450 million unbanked people have been brought into the banking network and 135 million people have been insured. A total of 110 million families were provided with sanitation facilities, and more than 60 million households were connected to the water supply.”
