India’s abstention is a “serious matter” for us: Ukraine envoy on UNGA vote

Ivan Konovalov, the Ukrainian chargé d’affaires, stated on Friday that India’s absence from voting at the United Nations General Assembly on a resolution calling for an end to the conflict in Ukraine was a “sensitive subject” for them because Kyiv relies on New Delhi’s cooperation. Konovalov told the news agency ANI that the relationship between the two countries is trustworthy and that he hopes India will “assist us in the future.”

“The resolution was passed, and India’s position of abstention is unquestionably a delicate matter for us. We expect and rely on India’s assistance, and we have an unquestionably trustworthy relationship with the country “According to the Ukrainian Charge d’Affaires, ANI.

India was one of 32 nations who abstained on the vote to accept the resolution at the United Nations General Assembly, with India’s permanent representative to the international body stating that the step was insufficient to achieve the desired long-term peace.

Ruchira Kamboj, India’s permanent representative to the United Nations, commented, “Although we recognise the stated intention of today’s resolution, we are compelled to abstain due to its inherent limits in achieving our desired objective of maintaining sustainable peace.”

The term “ecosystem” refers to a group of people who work in the construction industry.

Konovalov referred to India’s G20 Presidency as a window of opportunity to stop the war, expressing his expectation that Ukraine will be on the table at the group’s summit later this year.

“During India’s G20 Presidency, India’s assistance for Ukraine is of the utmost importance. The term “ecosystem” refers to a group of people who operate in the construction industry. We view India’s G20 leadership as an opportunity to stop this war, finish this war, and win this war “The Ukrainian ambassador stated.
