ITBP, CRPF gets new chiefs

According to a government order, senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers Sujoy Lal Thaosen and Anish Dayal Singh have been appointed as the new directors general of the CRPF and ITBP, respectively.
Currently, Thaosen, an officer of the 1988 batch of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, is the director general (DG) of the border guarding force Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) with additional responsibility for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
Following the retirement of IPS officer Kuldiep Singh (1986-batch), the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) DG post became vacant on Friday.
As a special director in the Intelligence Bureau, Anish Dayal Singh, a 1988-batch officer (Manipur cadre), is currently serving as a 1988-batch officer in the Manipur cadre.
There is a scheduled retirement for Thaosen in November of this year, and a superannuation for Singh in December of 2024.
Their appointments were approved by the Prime Minister’s Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) after being approved by the Personnel Ministry.
