Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary is marked by tributes by Prime Minister Modi and President Murmu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri on Sunday at Vijay Ghat, marking the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
Sonia Gandhi, the Congress leader, and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also paid tribute to the deceased at Vijay Ghat.
PM Modi shared images from an exhibition at the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in Delhi on Twitter. PM Modi encouraged the public to visit the museum and described it as a testament to Shastri’s achievements as Prime Minister.

According to Naveen Patnaik, the words “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” of Shastri continue to inspire and guide the process of nation-building.
Shastri was also honoured by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal. As a result of Shastri’s efforts to implement the Green Revolution, the country was saved from food shortages.
