LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh assembly elections: Chirag Paswan

LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest the upcoming Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, party president Chirag Paswan announced Monday.

However, the party has not yet decided how many seats it will contest in these two states, Paswan said.

He said the decision to join the fray in the two BJP-ruled states was taken after a unanimously passed resolution in the party’s national executive meeting.

“The party has decided to contest the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. We will soon decide on the party’s number of seats in Gujarat and the list of candidates.

He said the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) would appoint its Himachal Pradesh in-charge later in the day and decide on the list of candidates later.

Voting for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 12, and votes will be counted on December 8. The Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for the Gujarat elections. PTI PK RC
