Man arrested for hoisting Pakistan flag at home in Chhattisgarh

Police have arrested a 52-year-old man for hoisting the Pakistan flag at his house in Chhattisgarh’s Sarangarh-Bhilaigarh district. An official gave this information on Thursday.
The action was taken against the fruit seller Mushtaq Khan on Tuesday evening after receiving a complaint from the police that he had hoisted the Pakistan flag above his house in the Atal Chowk area of Saria city, the official said.
Later, he said a team of police removed the flag and confiscated it.
Khan was booked under section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race etc. and doing prejudicial acts to maintain said. Further investigation was going on.
Some local BJP leaders on Tuesday staged a sit-in outside the Saria police station and demanded that the man be booked for sedition.
