Minor girl gang-raped inside a car in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar; three held

New Delhi: Three people have been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in the Vasant Vihar area of ​​the national capital, police said.

The incident happened on July 6 and the police received the complaint on July 8.

Based on the statement of the complainant, a case has been registered against the three accused, aged 23, 25 and 35, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

Police said that the victim had gone for a ride in the car along with the three accused at around 8:30 pm on July 6.

Delhi Police said, “A PCR call was received from SJ Hospital at around 4 am on July 8, where the caller informed about the incident of harassment with the minor.”

“On checking with the counselor, the girl revealed that two known men met her near Vasant Vihar market on 6 July and offered a pleasure ride, where the four went to Mahipalpur and consumed alcohol. Thereafter, they went to a deserted place where the men raped her inside the car,” the police said.

However, no external injuries to the survivor have been reported.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
