More than 900 officers were transferred to Gujarat, and 51 are yet to be shared

Sources said Wednesday that the Gujarat government had transferred over 900 officers ahead of the state assembly elections. However, 51 officers, including six senior IPS officers, are yet to be removed per the Election Commission’s guidelines.
The decision came after the Election Commission (EC) pulled up the state government last week, seeking an “explanation as to the circumstances as to why the compliance report has not been submitted even after the stipulated deadline, while another reminder”.
On Wednesday, the poll panel is understood to have asked the state chief secretary to ensure that the remaining officers report to the “concerned headquarters” and a compliance report is sent by 4 pm on Thursday.
Additional commissioners of police Premveer Singh (crime, Ahmedabad city) and AG Chauhan (traffic, Ahmedabad city), and six IPS officers in deputy commissioners of police Harshad Patel (control room, Ahmedabad city), 51 officers are yet to be transferred. , Mukesh Patel (Zone-IV, Ahmedabad City), Bhakti Thakar (Traffic, Ahmedabad City), and Rupal Solanki (Crime, Surat City).
