According to Lalu Prasad, he and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will meet with Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi soon in an effort to unite opposition parties ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In his speech, Prasad claimed that the BJP wants to sabotage communal harmony to hide the real problems people are facing.

Together with Nitish Kumar Ji, I will meet Sonia (Gandhi) Ji in Delhi. After Rahul Gandhi’s ‘padyatra’ is complete, we will meet…As he addressed the party’s state council meeting, Prasad said that the united opposition would remove the BJP from power in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Former chief minister Bidya Bhagwati said people should be alert and cautious when Home Minister Amit Shah visits Seemanchal.

“BJP leaders may incite fights between different communities in the state,” Prasad said.

The Seemanchal region is heavily populated by Muslims. On September 23 and 24, Shah will address rallies in Purnea and Kishanganj districts, respectively.

Shah will make his first trip to the state since the BJP lost power in political upheaval.

After the home minister’s visit, the grand alliance partners plan at least three rallies in the Seemanchal region.
