Nitish Kumar hits back at Prashant Kishor: “He speaks for his own publicity”

In the days that followed Prashant Kishor’s claim that Nitish Kumar is in touch with the BJP and that he might tie up with it again if the situation calls for it, the Bihar Chief Minister said Friday that all the poll strategist wants is publicity.
Please don’t ask me about him. Talking all the time. We don’t care what he says, he speaks for his own publicity. News agency ANI quoted Nitish Kumar as saying, “I used to respect him…I don’t know what’s on his mind now.”

“He’s young.” The people I respected have misbehaved with me, you all know that!” Nitish concluded. During his padyatra in Bihar, which is widely seen as a precursor to his entry into active politics, Kishor told PTI that Kumar remains in contact with the BJP through JD(U) MP and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson Harivansh.
“People who believe that Nitish Kumar is actively building a national alliance against the BJP will be surprised to learn that he has maintained close ties with the BJP. Through Harivansh ji, his party’s MP and deputy chairperson in the Rajya Sabha, he is in contact with the BJP. Despite the JD(U) having severed ties with the BJP, Harivansh has not been asked to resign from his Rajya Sabha post for this reason.
It is important that people remember that whenever such circumstances arise, he will be able to return to the BJP and work with it again.
After joining the JD(U) in 2018 and rising to the post of national vice president, Kishor was expelled from the party in early 2020.
