Owaisi condemns a woman’s death after being set on fire by jilted lover in Jharkhand

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday condemned the death of a 19-year-old woman in Jharkhand who was burnt alive by a man allegedly for turning her down and demanded that a special court be designated to hear the matter.
He said that it is “animalism” that youths burnt the girl alive.
“I not only condemn but also demand the Jharkhand government to deal with the matter properly. If possible, a (special) court may be designated there to hear the matter. They (the accused) should be given the harshest punishment as per the law.
Police said the incident took place on August 23 in Dumka city when the accused, identified as Shahrukh, allegedly poured petrol on the woman from outside the window of her house and set her on fire.
The class 12 student, who was in critical condition with 90 percent burns, was referred to Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for better treatment. He died at RIMS in the early hours of Sunday.
The accused has already been arrested.
