PM Modi inaugurates the Mahakal Lok corridor at Mahakaleshwar Temple

The Mahakal Lok corridor was inaugurated at the Mahakaleshwar temple here on Tuesday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Mahakal Lok project is expected to cost Rs 856 crore, with the first phase costing Rs 351 crore, according to an official.

In addition to Modi, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also attended the event.

Using a remote control, he unveiled a replica of the Shivling in honor of Mahakal Lok.

As part of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project, better amenities will be provided to the visitors of the temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva and houses one of the 12 Jyotirlingas (representations of Lord Shiva) in the country.

There are approximately 108 aesthetically ornate pillars which depict the Anand Tandav Swaroop (Lord Shiva’s dance form), 200 statues and murals depicting Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti.

Before launching the corridor project, Prime Minister Modi offered prayers at the temple.
