The Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ have been launched: Here is what you need to know

The Vivo X90 Pro+ is the world’s first smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The Vivo X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ are Vivo’s next-generation flagship smartphones. First smartphones featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 processor are the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro. A similar distinction is made by Vivo’s X90 Pro+, the world’s first smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

In addition to a leather back panel and a large camera bump at the back, all three variants of the Vivo X90 smartphone series offer a premium design. Similar to their predecessors, these smartphones will be shipped in China with Android 13 OS with Origin OS 3.0 skin, while their international variants will be shipped with FunTouchOS.

Specs of the Vivo X90 Pro+

Vivo X90 Pro+ is the company’s flagship smartphone, featuring a 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED LTPO display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. With a native resolution of 3200x1440p, a peak brightness of 1800nits, and a touch sampling rate of 1200Hz, the display offers a native solution of 3200x1440p. This device has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 10-bit panel with Dolby Vision support.

With an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 3.2GHz, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powers the Vivo X90 Pro+. Up to 12GB of RAM can be found on the device and 256 or 512GB of internal storage (UFS 4.0). In addition, there are two nano SIM card slots on the device, with support for 5G networks on both slots and Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.

Cameras are one of the key highlights of the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G. It features a quad-camera setup on the back, with a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 f/1.75 sensor serving as the primary wide-angle camera. It is also equipped with a 48 megapixel ultra-wide angle camera (Sony IMX589), a 50 megapixel 2 megapixel zoom lens (OmniVision OV64B), and a 64 megapixel periscope zoom lens (Sony IMX758).

Using a laser-assisted autofocus system, the smartphone’s camera setup utilizes an in-house V2 chip along with Zeiss T* coating and ZEISS optics. In terms of camera capabilities, the Vivo X90 Pro+ is capable of recording 8K videos, taking a picture in just 30 milliseconds and consuming 16.3watts with its V1 Chip.

The X90+ is powered by a 4,700mAh battery that can be charged wirelessly or via a wired connection up to 80W. Pricing for the Vivo X90 Pro+ starts at 6499 yuan, which is approximately Rs 74,500. The smartphone will be available in black and red.

Specs of Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro

Mediatek Dimensity 9200 SoC powers both the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, which are equipped with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The two models have an identical 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1300nits of peak brightness.

There is only one difference between these two devices in terms of their cameras. Vivo X90 Pro features a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP wide-angle camera and a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, similar to the X90 Pro+. Additionally, the smartphone possesses a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 50MP 50mm telephoto lens equipped with ZEISS optics, and a V2 processor.

Similarly, the Vivo X90 offers a triple camera system with a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 12MP 50mm telephoto lens with Zeiss T* coating, ZEISS optics, and V2 chip. Each of the three Vivo X90 models is equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera and an aperture of f/2.45.

With a battery capacity of 4,870 mAh, the Vivo X90 Pro supports fast charging at 120W and wireless charging at 50W. Furthermore, the Vivo X90 has a slightly smaller 4,810 mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging, but does not support wireless charging.

Availability and pricing

The entry-level model of the Vivo X90 costs 3699 Yuan or Rs 42,000, while the base model of the Vivo X90 Pro costs 4999 Yuan or Rs 57,000. Vivo X90 Pro and X90 will be available in China on November 30, whereas Vivo X90 Pro+ will be available on December 6. There is no official announcement regarding the launch of these devices in India as of yet.
