Police continue their search for the man who stole a Karnataka government bus.

Police are looking for a man who stole a Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation bus in Mysuru (KKRTC). The bus was parked at Chincholi depot in Kalburgi district on Tuesday morning. Officials said that CCTV footage shows a man walking up to it and then driving it away.

Later, the bus was found in Tondur, which is 31 km from Chincholi and in the state of Telangana.

Police say that driver Ayub Khan and conductor Erappa parked the bus at the Chincholi bus depot at 9 p.m. on Monday. From Bidar, the bus came. The bus driver and conductor slept in the bathroom at the bus depot. When they got up in the morning to start the trip to Bidar, they found that the bathroom was gone. When they looked at the CCTV footage, they saw that someone drove the bus towards Telangana at 3:30 a.m.

After a complaint, the SP for the Kalburgi district, Isha Pant, put together two police teams to find the bus. The teams moved quickly and got the bus back from Telangana’s Tondur.

“We were shocked because the bus was stolen from the stop, which is a strange thing to happen,” Raja Shekar, the manager of Bidar depot 2 said. “There are no guards or gates at the bus stop. The bus was driven by a thief who had a copy of the keys while we were getting diesel the day before,” he said.

“Closed-circuit television footage showed that the thief was driving a bus towards Telangana. The bus was left in front of a temple in Tondur, Telangana, where two police teams were able to find it, Pant said.

At the Chincholi police station, someone has been charged with a crime. “We know what the thief looks like and will catch him soon,” she said.
