President of Maldives on 4-day visit to India from August 1

Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is arriving on a four-day visit to India from August 1, which will provide an opportunity to review progress made in the Comprehensive Partnership.

“At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President of the Republic of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will pay an official visit to India from August 1-4,” official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday.

Solih will be accompanied by a high-level official and a business delegation. Bagchi said Maldivian leaders will meet President Draupadi Murmu and hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also call on President Solih. Apart from official events in New Delhi, Solih will also visit Mumbai and attend business events.

“President Solih’s upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to review progress made in this comprehensive partnership,” Bagchi said.
