Rahul Gandhi compared to a special needs performer by an MP minister; the Congress condemns the BJP for its insensitivity

The Madhya Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vishvas Sarang allegedly compared Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the actor Kamo, who is specially abled.

According to Congress, the BJP has been rattled by Gandhi’s successful “Bharat Jodo Yatra” campaign for mocking the “Divyang artiste”.

In Ambaji town, located in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat, 215 kilometers from here, Sarang addressed BJP workers.

Often appearing as a celebrity guest at live events of folk singers, Kamo, also known as the Kama, has become well-known throughout Gujarat for his unique style of dancing. Down’s syndrome appears to be the cause of his condition.

According to a video circulated on social media, Sarang mocked Rahul Gandhi by comparing him to Kamo.

“Who was that? Yes, Kamo….You can see from where Kamo has started his journey, saying ‘Bharat Jodo’,” the BJP leader said.

“He talks about Garibi Hatao but wears a T-shirt that costs Rs 40,000,” the MP minister added.

Sarang further claimed that “Kamo’s mummy used to control “Manmohan Singh” through remote control.

In response to the video, Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi stated, “The Kama is a Divyang (specially abled) artist. As a result of watching lakhs of people participate in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, BJP leaders have become nervous and have lost their mental equilibrium. Assembly elections are expected to be held by the end of the year in Gujarat, where the BJP has been in power for nearly three decades.
