Raj Kanwar, Dehradun’s silent chronicler, is remembered
In honor of Raj Kanwar, a prolific journalist, author, entrepreneur, and chronicler of Doon Valley, his family and friends gathered in Dehradun on Saturday to commemorate his life and accomplishments.
Manav, his elder son, reports that Kanwar suffered a heart attack and is in the hospital.
Kanwar’s death was condoled by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and many senior journalists. Dhami described Kanwar’s death as “an irreparable loss to journalism”. DGP Ashok Kumar said he first came to know Kanwar through his articles in newspapers such as The Deccan Era, where Kanwar worked as a stringer.
