Real estate dealer loses Rs,000 as stealers exploit Google quest results

Cybercriminals are exploiting Google quests to trick victims into downloading apps that give remote access to their bias, operating which they deceive them. In the rearmost case, a 48- time-old real estate broker from Chunabhatti misplaced Rs 78,000 to cyber culprits by making her download the Teamviewer app by declaring to recharge her MTNL card. The police have registered an FIR in the case and are probing the affair.

A functionary spoke about the incident that took place on Monday when the woman, Anagha Jadhav, entered a WhatsApp communication saying that her SIM card would be canceled if she didn’t complete the KYC formalities. The communication contained a number that the woman was asked to call to complete the formalities. When she called the number, the person asked her to google’ kyc qs’ and download the app.

Rather than a KYC app, the first entry Google searches for is a link to the Teamviewer Quick Support app that offers remote access. also, he asked the woman to pay Rs 10 to recharge her account. “As the woman gave her details, the indicted got access to her because of the app. He also used the details to make three deals worth Rs,709,” the functionary spoke.

Latterly, when the woman came to know that there were unauthorized deals in her account, she approached the police and an FIR was registered. A functionary spoke cybercriminals are able of manipulating hunt machines to dupe victims.
