RSS chief visits madrasa and mosque because of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, PM Modi soon to wear ‘topi’: Digvijaya

Digvijaya Singh, a Congress leader, said on Tuesday that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visited a madrasa and a mosque because of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon wear a “topi” (hat).

In Saudi Arabia and other countries, Singh, who heads the Yatra committee, claims PM Modi wears a “topi”, an apparent reference to the skullcap worn by Muslims, but avoids doing so after returning to India.

In the month that followed the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ (RSS chief Mohan) Bhagwat began visiting madrasas and mosques. Within a few days, Modi will wear a topi as well,” Singh told reporters.

The Gujarat chief minister refused to wear a skull cap offered by a Muslim cleric during his sadbhavna fast in September 2011.

The chief of the All India Imam Organisation, Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, met Bhagwat in September at a mosque and a madrasa (Islamic seminary) in Delhi.

Singh said within two months of the Yatra, which started on September 7, the poor of the country were becoming poorer, and the rich were becoming richer.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the yatra reaches its destination, Srinagar.

Singh alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party relied only on gimmicks to ensure the welfare of people belonging to SC and ST communities while attending the state government’s ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ event.

It is with great pride that Droupadi Murmu leads our country. It is our hope that she will address the atrocities committed against tribals in Madhya Pradesh. She can give our delegation some time if she does not want to speak on this topic,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.

According to Singh, Ramnath Kovind, a member of the Scheduled Castes, was elected president earlier this year.

According to him, the Prime Minister should explain how his government benefited crores of Dalits during the tenure of President Kovind.

The Congress veteran reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are part of the Gandhian vision of a Congress-free Bharat. “They are the B team of the BJP,” he said.

Asaduddin Owaisi of AAP and AIMIM claimed they were fighting elections to help the BJP by cutting votes from other parties.
