Scindia promises swift action in response to the situation involving the urinating pilot of Air India.

According to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, prompt action will be taken in the case of a man who is accused of urinating on a female co-passenger on a flight from New York to Mumbai in November.

Shankar Mishra, 34, the accused, was taken into custody by Delhi Police on Saturday.

On November 26, 2016, he allegedly peed on a senior citizen while intoxicated in the business class of an Air India trip from New York to Delhi.

Scindia told reporters here on Saturday that “further action will be taken swiftly after the end of the existing hearings” without going into any detail.

On Saturday, the CEO of the airline apologised for how the situation was handled, announced that four cabin staff members and a pilot had been de-listed, and said that the policy regarding the dispensing of alcohol on flights was being examined.

According to earlier reports, Mishra was apprehended in Bengaluru by the Delhi Police after being located there by sophisticated monitoring.

A Delhi court rejected the police’s request for Mishra’s custody on Saturday and sentenced him to judicial remand for 14 days.

On January 4, the Delhi Police filed a FIR against him in response to a complaint the woman made to Air India.

Mishra was fired on Friday from his position with the American multinational company Wells Fargo in India.
