Shah will lay the foundation stone for the new campus of GTU

The Union Home Minister will lay the foundation stone for the new Gujarat Technological University (GTU) campus at Lekawada during his visit to Gandhinagar. A temporary campus is currently being constructed in Chandkheda, Ahmedabad, where the university functions.
The proposed GTU project will include 17 small buildings, each housing a different department from various engineering faculties, plus adjacent workshops and administrative buildings.
For the construction of the new building, the state government has allocated 100 acres of land and sanctioned Rs 275 crore. Additionally, there will be a stadium and auditorium with solar lighting covering 18,000 square meters as part of the new university project.
A university was set up by former Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2007, Sheth said.
