“Sick minds”: Tharoor slams trolls for comments regarding a photo with a woman

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday lashed out at trolls who took swipes at a photograph of him with a woman at an event, urging them to realize that real people are involved in such abuse.

A woman took down pictures of herself with Tharoor after the trolling prompted his comments. “It breaks my heart how the right-wing people are using my pictures with Tharoor sir to spread misinformation for political purposes,” she wrote. In the post, she described meeting him at a literature festival to which she was invited. I, too, like many others, took a few pictures of him to commemorate the great author he is. It is not related to any political or personal issues. “He has always been an inspiration to me,” she said.

Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram and a prolific author, tagged her tweet.

Trolls must realize that the abuse they perpetrate is affecting real people.

She has suffered for an innocent photograph taken at a reception attended by over one hundred people, where I must have posed for photos with over fifty people! Please keep your sick minds to yourselves, trolls!” he replied.
