The Army dog Zoom, who fought terrorists in J&K despite injuries, has succumbed to his injuries

During treatment on Thursday, Army assault dog Zoom, who had received two gunshot wounds during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, succumbed to his injuries.

ANI reported that Zoom passed away around 12 pm at the Advance Field Veterinary Hospital. “He was responding well until approximately 11.45 am when he suddenly started gasping and collapsed,” they reported.

After receiving information regarding the presence of militants in Tangpawa area of Anantnag district on Sunday night, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area. On Monday morning, Zoom was sent into the house suspected to be home to militants.

As a result of finding and attacking the militants, he sustained two bullet wounds, resulting in a critical injury. As a result of the dog’s wounds, the Army said it continued to attack the militants, helping in efforts to neutralize them.

The encounter resulted in the death of two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants and the injury of two soldiers.
