The Cong might do an East-West tour after Kanyakumari to Kashmir

As the Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, led by Rahul Gandhi, has completed a week, the party said on Thursday that it might go on another yatra after this one – from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh.

It said the yatra gave the party a new “image” and would transform Indian politics while strengthening its organization.

When interacting with the media in Kollam, Kerala, AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Maybe next year we’ll have an East to West yatra.”You’ll always get asked why you’re not doing something else in India. For everything you do, there are five questions why you don’t do it. So I’d like to take this head-on and say it might be possible in 2023 to do it from Porbandar to Parshuram Kund. This yatra may take place.”

The only way to transform Indian politics is through mass contact programmes.”I think the Bharat Jodo Yatra will change Indian politics and make the Congress party stronger.”The way the BJP is attacking the yatra every day… The BJP has always done Bharat thodo… Now it’s doing Congress thodo. In Goa, for example, the BJP wants to create a distraction. They’ll do it every day to distract people from Bharat Jodo Yatra,” Ramesh said. “One-day containers, the next-day t-shirts, the third-day shoes, the fourth-day something else, and the fifth-day Goa.”
