The Congress has complained to the Election Commission that the BJP is using children in its campaign

In the run-up to the Gujarat Assembly elections, the Congress has appealed to the Election Commission for action against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for allegedly using children as part of their political campaign.
An earlier complaint had been filed with the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights after the BJP posted on its social media handles a video of a young girl sitting with Prime Minister Modi and speaking in Gujarati about the BJP’s governance record.
As a result of the NCPCR’s request for action and an inquiry into a complaint against the party and its leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly misusing children as political tools during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Election Commission issued a notice some weeks ago to the Congress party.
We are deeply concerned about children’s use for election campaigns in Gujarat. There have been many people who have seen our videos; they have been widely shared. Those videos were produced, and a written complaint has been submitted to the Election Commission. The Election Commission has stated several times that children must not be used in campaigns, they must not be exploited in campaigns, and yet, this is the case,” said Salman Khurshid, senior Congress leader.
