The CPM says Lalu Prasad Yadav’s demand for a ban on RSS is not sufficient after the PFI ban
In response to the Central Government’s ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav demanded the ban on organizations like the RSS.
Lalu Yadav said, “The PFI is under investigation. All organizations like the PFI should be banned, including the RSS.

Despite the fact that the PFI holds “extremist views” and engages in “violent activities” against its perceived opponents, the CPM said banning the radical outfit is not the answer.
The Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) cannot be used to address this issue by notifying the PFI of an unlawful association. It has been shown in the past that banning organisations such as the RSS and the Maoists does not work. When the PFI engages in illegal or violent activities, administrative action must be taken under the existing laws. In a statement, the CPM said that the sectarian and divisive ideology of the party must be exposed and fought politically among the people.

According to the Left party, the PFI and the RSS are involved in killings and reprisals in Kerala and coastal Karnataka in an attempt to create a communal climate.
Several extremist groups have been implicated in the deaths of secular writers and personalities, including the Sanatan Sanstha and the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. In addition, these forces must be dealt with using the regular laws of the land and with firm administrative action, whether they represent the majority or minorities.
“Those who exercise power and uphold the Constitution must ensure that the secular-democratic character of the Republic is maintained by countering such forces.”
